Finding Grace

main text:
Genesis 6:8 NKJV
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Lets pray
The Bible is filled with men and women who have found Gods grace to be a force to be recon with.
The Biblical dictionary tells us that Grace is bestowed upon men and women who in their inmost souls feels a sense of nothingness, The Biblical definition of Grace is God’s unmerited favor towards sinful humanity.
it is quite interesting that the first place that the word grace is directly mention is in Genesis 6: 8 but before that the most vivid action by God showing grace was when he visited Adam and Eve after they had fallen into sin.
When we read the Word of God it is filled with evidence of God showing to us, humanity his grace.
When we consider that its by the Lords mercy that we are alive today, we have something to give God thanks for
when we realize that we still in our right mind after the lock down that is something to God thanks for
when we realize that our family members who contracted COVID-19 overseas and recovered that's something to give thanks for.
when we realize that your family members who never prayed or read their bibles started praying and reading the word of God that’s something to give God thanks for
no matter what happen to you during and after the lock down you still have reasons to praise the Lord...
Today as we delve in today's topic “Finding Grace”
Allow me for a few moments to share with you how we can experience grace in our daily lives.
it is said that Grace is God’s unmerited favor towards sinful humanity. Because this is true then God’s grace is extended to everyone irrespective of their color, George Floyd, race (Blacks, Chinese Caucasians, Indian, Brown skin, yellow skin and even pink skin people to be humorous also Gods grace is transcends geography, nationality or religion (Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhist, and the list goes go…)
so the first step to finding grace is to know that God’s Grace transcends all boundaries.
When we recognise that Gods grace comes to us and is constantly drawing us into collision with his love then we can see that God is indeed love. There are people in our world who are asking the age old question of Why good things happen to bad people and bad things happens to good people. I want you to know that only God knows all things and when you are tempted to ask the age old question you have to surrender yourself in God’s hands because it is easy to be caught up in the questioning game.
listen to what The word of God says
so from this one verse alone we get a pertinent truth that God’s grace is extended to all men. and for a person to find grace they must recognise that God is drawing and them to himself. Sometimes we ask , if God is such a loving God why did he cause COVID-19 to kill so many people, the answer to that question is only God understands. When i examine the word of God, He sometimes allow things to happen because he wants to get our attention. He wants us to experience his grace, His favor but we are caught up in all kind of stuff but thanks be to God for grace.
2 Peter 3:9 says
The New King James Version Chapter 3

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but mis longsuffering toward 3us, nnot willing that any should perish but othat all should come to repentance.

The second step to finding grace is recognising who we are.
The question is who am i, The Bible informs me that i am child of God created with qualities and possibilities to do extra ordinary exceptional and wonderful things but on the other it also inform me that i was born into sin and shapen in iniquity, destined to die. But Grace stepped in an changed the equation, listed to this word from the Lord.
Romans 5:8–9 NKJV
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Church can you see that God’s grace is amazing. We do not deserve any good thing, we do not deserve his favor, the Bible uses the word (demonstrate)
This is a verb, an action word, how did he demonstrate his love, .... the answer…by dying for us and to make his demonstrating more potent… the Bible says......while we were still sinner. so God demonstrates his love while we were still in the run bar, while we were still play the fool, while we were committing murder, fornication, adultery and the list goes go.
so for us to find grace we must first know that God grace transcend all boundaries and we must know who we are. now the last point i want to leave with you is...
The grace of God is still available.
Jonathan Parnell in his online articles entitle “God’s grace will find you” says “The grace of God will find you. No matter where you’ve gone or how far you’ve drifted, nowhere is out of the reach of God’s grace”.
God’s grace will still available to anyone. It doesn't matter where you have been, what you have done. David a man after God’s heart felt that because of his sin, he was separated from God, but David was a man who always encouraged himself in the Lord, it was when he was down and about to give up the Lord stood by him and gave him the inspiration to pen what i am about to declare right now
Psalm 139:7–10 NKJV
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
God’s grace was available to King David in his good and bad times and right now God’s grace is still available to anyone who is willing to say like David.
Psalm 139:1–4 The Message
God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand. I’m an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking. You know when I leave and when I get back; I’m never out of your sight. You know everything I’m going to say before I start the first sentence.
today you are alive because of his grace, you are not here because of you, you are here because God has allowed you to.
as we wrap up today i want you at this time if you feel the pull of God’s grace upon your heart to say Lord i need you now more than ever. if you sense the pull the call at this time i want you to stand and raise your hands as we pray together.
